EXCITING NEWS OF THE MONTH
21 October 2019 was a big date on the Shadowmatch calendar. It was the day when our Head of Information Systems switched over from the previous Shadowmatch system to the new system. For the Shadowmatch team, it was a moment to celebrate.
The new system is quick, easy, clean and very powerful. We now have full encryption and compliance with all password settings and data security, and this is all well in line with international standards.
We do understand that the new Shadowmatch is fresh and different, but it is much easier and more advanced than Shadowmatch V1. We are currently working to make everything even easier and more intuitive. Another advantage of the new system is that we can make changes quite easily.
The newsletters in 2020 will include some of the very futuristic things the system now provides. One of these new, funky functionalities, is the fact that once you have logged in and you have the structure of the divisions/department/entities on the screen, you don't have to click anywhere, you can just type the name of the department/entity you are looking for and see what happens. Once you start typing, the name of the entity you are searching for will appear at the top of the list, all you have to do now is just hit "enter"! Note: You cannot search for individual results in this way. The search for results will be covered in the next communication.
For those fascinated by some interesting facts:
The system is now a 750 000 code line system.
The program we had to write for the data migration (from the old system to the new) is about 20 000 lines of coding.
The simple way to understand a code line is to see it as one line of instructions to make the software programme work as a whole.
It is indeed a big system! And it is working to perfection.

Thank you for the part you played in 2019. We appreciate and value your loyalty immensely. Thank you for celebrating the achievements of 2019 with us.
2019 was the year the Personal Growth Workshop took flight. To date the workshop has been presented to 2000 individuals. The Workshop has been hosted in Gauteng, the Freestate, Namibia and America.
Above all, 2019 was the year of launching the New Shadowmatch System. The slick new interface allows the user to switch with ease between functions and the database structure is of world-class standard. Many, many hours of hard work went into this. We greatly appreciate the quality of work done by the developers and the whole Shadowmatch Team.
We look forward to 2020 with excited hearts. In 2020 we will focus on taking big strides in further enhancements of the new system whilst developing fantastic new features. We look forward to a great 2020 with you.
