Success for All


DID YOU KNOW?


We can be held hostage without knowing it.

It is widely understood that we live in a complex world.  For some, life appears simple – but for most, it is not that straightforward.  One important consideration is that we become held hostage without realising it.  This occurs when we are influenced or controlled by people, circumstances, or material possessions, without a clear awareness of how deeply that influence has taken root.


Individuals can become entangled in their possessions – whether they have too much or too little.  What they own, or don’t own, can subtly begin to exert control over them.  They may become overly attached to these things, leading to a form of obsession.

Success can also become a form of captivity.  The pursuit of achievement can become addictive, eventually taking control of one’s life.  The list of potential strangleholds is extensive – relationships, finances, children, mobile phones, to name a few.


What to do?


1.     Identify your strangleholds:  Write down the things that seem to have a grip on your life.  How can you recognise them?  These are often the topics you repeatedly bring up – sometimes out of context – and the thoughts that frequently occupy your mind.

2.     Leverage your habits:  List your five strongest habits.  Then, develop a practical action plan for how these habits can help you break free from the areas where you may be held hostage.


Remember, freedom is fun!

SHADOWMATCH USER TIP OF THE MONTH


We continuously receive positive feedback about the circle (or stretch) graph in the team functionality and want to remind you that an individual’s results can also be viewed in a radar chart (or stretch/circle graph).


When working on the system, you can access the chart by selecting the circle icon on the individual’s results page, next to ‘Overall Match’ (as shown below).

When you click on the circle icon (as indicated above), the individual’s results will appear in the radar chart and you will be able to view the results depicted in 4 different habit groupings, People Habits, Task Habits, Idea Habits, and Internal Habits. The radar chart is automatically included in any result reports downloaded from the system.


For the individual - on your personal portal you can go to ‘My Habits’ and view the interactive radar chart by selecting the circle icon.

Bonus, the radar chart is part of your Personal Feedback Report when you download it, it appears on the last page.


This chart further illustrates where an individual’s habits are clustered together and where their behaviour will drive them most naturally.
